Improving Supplier Reliability

RESEARCH OVERVIEW:

  • Report Details: The research for this report was conducted via an online survey from February 2 – May 13, 2016. Surveys were conducted among Manufacturers, Wholesalers/Distributors/Co-operatives and Third-Party Logistics Providers (n=99). Respondents were divided into two groups for analysis: Buyers (n=59) and Suppliers (n=40).
  • Objective: To understand the role of supply chain excellence training in supplier development. Supplier development is defined as a formal program designed to improve the supplier response.
  • Highlight: With the tightening of supplier capacity and the increase in supplier viability, supplier development programs are important to drive reliability, mitigate risk, and drive corporate social responsibility programs.
