Launch of the Supply Chain Index

RESEARCH OVERVIEW:

  • Report Details: This report is based upon mathematical modeling of the correlation between selected supply chain financial metrics and market capitalization from 2006Q1 to 2012Q4.
  • Objective: To use objective financial results from the balance sheet and income statement to understand what metrics correlate between supply chain excellence and market capitalization and design a new ranking system for supply chains based upon the model.
  • Hypothesis: Each industry is unique and a good supply chain has different characteristics based upon the specific industry it is in, the product it creates and the customers it serves. Our aim is for the Supply Chain Index to illuminate the differences in what makes a great supply chain by industry.
