RESEARCH OVERVIEW:

  • Objective: To understand where companies are on the use of Vendor Managed Inventory processes and the value proposition they present.
  • Highlight: VMI orders ship nearly a day earlier to the retailer than non-VMI orders, improving the time of response.  The average time without VMI is 4.5 days while the time with a VMI process is 3.7 days.
  • Survey Details: The research for this report was conducted from December 9, 2013 – June 12, 2014. It is based on an online survey among 38 respondents from the Consumer Packaged Goods or Food & Beverage industries who are at least somewhat familiar with Vendor Managed Inventory processes at their company.
